The RPCVs Alliance for Ukraine and National Peace Corps Association are teaming up for an opinion piece (op-ed) training on zoom. With the 1 Year Anniversary of the War of Russian Aggression coming up (February 24th), we wanted to host this event Thursday, February 9th at 8PM. Come learn how to be successful in getting an opinion piece (op-ed) published in a local/regional newspaper.
At this zoom training you will learn the basic steps on writing and submitting an op-ed. You will meet and hear from fellow RPCVs who will share their success stories. Come learn how to remind your community that this war is still ongoing and let people know how to help. Additionally, we will enter into breakout rooms so participants can focus in on further op ed discussion and strategies for submitting an upcoming opinion piece either on the invasion of Ukraine or on the return of Peace Corps Volunteer to service (there are virtual options in Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia that help Ukrainians) as March 1st is the 62nd anniversary of the presidential executive order to establish the Peace Corps. It also marks the beginning of NPCA’s 19th annual National Days of Advocacy in Support of the Peace Corps.
